Lake Garfield Drawdown
The Lake Garfield drawdown will begin on October 15, and will stop when the 6-foot drawdown target is reached or on December 1, whichever comes first. The plan is to reduce the water level, not more than 3 inches each day, to allow for gradual lowering and raising to minimize impacts downstream or for less mobile animals that inhabit shallow waters. Depending on winter ice conditions the lake will commence refill on February 1, 2027 with the goal of achieving full lake level by April 1, 2027 with an anticipated buffer of April 15, 2027 for drier spring weather.
