Friends of Lake Garfield — we need your support!

The Monterey Town Meeting will be held on May 1st at 9:30am. If you are a voter in Monterey, please come to support the citizens petition for the annual DASH (Diver Assisted Suction Harvesting) control of milfoil. We are requesting $30,000. If you are not a voter, you may still come to the meeting to support the petition.

Diver Assisted Suction Harvesting (DASH) is an alternative to chemical use to kill unwanted plants.

  • Divers identify unwanted non-native or invasive plants that need to be removed, pull them out by the roots and feed them into a suction tube that transports the plants to a boat to be hauled away.

  • The results are immediate, long-lasting, and chemical-free.
